A 60-year-old woman died in a stampede at a free flour point in Jatoi Tehsil of Muzaffargarh.
When the gate of the free dough point established in the local marriage hall was opened, there was a stampede due to the rush. Due to the heavy rush, a 60-year-old weak woman died under the feet of the citizens.
According to the police, 60-year-old Zahra Bibi was waiting for the gate of the atta point established in the local marriage hall to open, when the gate was opened, hundreds of men and women tried to enter through the gate together.
The chaos resulted in a stampede, due to which an elderly woman was seriously injured by the crowd.
The woman was being shifted to THQ Hospital Jatoi by the rescue team, but she died on the way, while another woman was also injured.
A few days ago, a 50-year-old woman, Taj Bibi, died due to a stampede at Free Atta Point in Chowk Sarwar Shaheed.
Taj Bibi`s body was shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Chowk Sarwar Shaheed.
Regarding the incident, Muzaffargarh Deputy Commissioner Agha Zaheer Shirazi said that an investigation into the incident has been ordered and legal action will be taken against those responsible.
It should be noted that 2 days ago, one person was killed and 7 others were injured due to a stampede during the distribution of free flour in Charsadda, district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In another incident, two people including a man and a woman died while 8 people were injured during a free flour distribution point in Bannu District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
