Karachi likely to get heatwave from May 5 till 8

Karachi is likely to get a heatwave from May 5 to 8 according to the Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD).

Temperature to soar next week due to a change in the direction of winds, that will result in soaring temperatures.

MET department predicts that the mercury will hit the  40 to 42 degrees Celsius mark in the coming week.

Furthermore, dry winds from the south and south-west will push the mercury up on the scale turning the metropolis weather hot.

According to PMD, on Friday,  the temperature can rise up to 37 degrees Celsius in Karachi during the day with 63 percent humidity recorded in the air this afternoon.

Keeping in view that Sindh on Friday is witnessing strict lockdown amid the coronavirus outbreak in the province.

Meanwhile, a rain-thunderstorm with strong winds is expected at few places in KP, Islamabad, upper Punjab, Kashmir, and Gilgit Baltistan.
