The Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has issued a notification to reopen the recreational sites in the metropolis under its administrative control from Tuesday.
As per the notification, the citizens will have to follow some standard operating procedures (SOPs) when visiting the spots to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The recreational places that will be reopened for the public from Tuesday would include Karachi Zoo, Safari Park and the Korangi-Landhi Zoo, said KMC Director Kunwar Ayub.
The KMC director further said that only families would be allowed to visit the public spots, adding that the visitors will have to wear face masks.
He also said that no public gathering is allowed at these recreational spots, visitors are not allowed to take food items with them.
It is pertinent to mention that the Sindh government had closed all recreational sites, parks and playgrounds as part of COVID-19 lockdown it had imposed on March 23.
The decision to reopen the recreational spots in the province coincides with a drop in COVID-19 cases across the country.
The government urged the citiznes to follow the SOPs to avoid the spread of the deadly infection.
