Mirza Shahzad Akbar survives acid attack in the UK

According to him, his new address outside of London, has been leaked

Mirza Shahzad Akbar, ex-advisor to former Prime Minister Imran Khan on accountability, survived an acid attack in the UK, it emerged on Monday.

Mirza is currently living in a small village outside of London where he shifted about 1.5 months ago, and according to him, his new address had been leaked.

Taking to social media, Mirza Shahzad said he was subjected to an acid attack at his home in the United Kingdom.

In a statement posted on X-platform, Mirza Shahzad Akbar said, “Last evening I was attacked at my address in England (where I am living in exile with my family) by unknown assailant/s who threw acidic liquid at me.”

“Thankfully my wife and children are safe, however, I got some injuries but nothing life-threatening. Police and emergency services arrived instantly and house being protected now. I will not be intimidated nor bow down to those who are doing this,” he added.

Talking to Geo News, Mirza who has been in self-exile in the UK, shared the details of the incident.

He said that a delivery person came to his house and threw acid on him as soon as he opened the door.

However, most of the acid landed on the door and only a small amount landed on him, he added.

The politician said that he was at home with his kids on Sunday when a delivery man wearing a helmet rang the doorbell.

as soon as he opened the door, the man threw acid on him from a bottle, adding that one side of his face and body were injured by the acid.

Akbar went on to say that he called the police soon after the incident, and the law enforcement officials reached his residence within five minutes.

Following to attack, he remained in the hospital for 10 to 11 hours after which he was taken back home.

Akbar told the news channel that the area around his home has been cordoned off and he is assisting the police in investigating the incident.

The former accountability chief added that the police also recovered the acid bottle which the police said had fingerprints of the suspect.

Mirza said that the suspect was dressed as a delivery boy and was travelling on a bike.
