Pakistan has reported its seventh positive coronavirus case, in Karachi. This is the fourth case to have been reported in the province of Sindh.
The confirmation of the seventh case of coronavirus in Pakistan comes from the Sindh Health departed on Sunday.
The 50-year-old patient who tested positive for the virus is in Karachi and as being reported, the patient and his family members have been quarantined.
“We are looking into further details of the patient’s travel history”, says the health department in a statement.
The announcement came as the chief minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah presided over a meeting of the taskforce formed to tackle the spread of the pandemic in the province.
The participants of the meeting were informed that another case of the novel coronavirus had emerged from Karachi after a person tested positive for the infection.
CM Sindh was briefed that four suspected patients were tested for the novel virus and only one came back positive and that 107 samples were sent from Sindh out of which four tested positive.
The previously reported positive cases in Sindh had a travel history to Iran.
