PM Shehbaz responds to Zimbabwe president’s jibe at Pakistan cricket

Twitter erupts with ‘Mr Bean’ jokes after Pakistan's shocking defeat to Zimbabwe

President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Damdudzo Mnangagwa took a jibe at Pakistan following the stunning one-run wicket victory against the green team in the World Cup T20 match played on Thursday in Perth.

While Twitter erupted with ‘Mr. Bean’ jokes after Pakistan’s shocking defeat to Zimbabwe,  the Zimbabwean president in a tweet from his official Twitter handle said, “What a win for Zimbabwe! Congratulations to the Chevrons. Next time, send the real Mr. Bean…#PakvsZim.”

And Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif responded to the Zimbabwe president’s jibe!

“We may not have the real Mr. Bean, but we have a real cricketing spirit .. and we Pakistanis have a funny habit of bouncing back. Mr. President: Congratulations. Your team played really well today,” PM Shehbaz Sharif tweeted.

What’s that fake Mr. Bean trending all about?

As reported, some time back a Pakistani comedian Arif was invited to an event in Zimbabwe in 2016, where he attended a comedy night at the Harare International Conference Centre.

He also attended comedy shows, and road shows, and was part of the Harare Agricultural Show as well.

Pakistan comedian Muhammad Arif is known hilariously known as ‘Pak Bean,”, for having an uncanny resemblance with the real Mr. Bean portrayed by British actor Rowan Atkinson.

And ahead of the key Pakistan vs Zimbabwe match, the Chevrons remembered how they were scammed by fake Mr. Bean and called for revenge.

Fake Mr. Bean Caused A Social Media War Between Zimbabwe-Pakistan

It all started apparently when a Twitter handle of a Zimbabwean claimed that they will ‘settle the matter, all the while calling Pakistanis ‘frauds’. “Just pray for the rains to save you,” Ngugi Chasura tweeted.

When a fan asked the reason behind his rage, he responded, “They gave us Pak Bean instead of Mr. Bean on one of our local events called agriculture show.”
