Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has proposed regulations’ draft that will be implemented under the first-ever Mobile Device Manufacturing Policy in the country intended to promote local manufacturing of the smartphone.
As per the details, the regulation authority on its website— shared the anticipated drafts for regulations and authorization for the manufacturing of mobile devices within the country.
According to PTA, the drafts would help the government in restricting the smuggling of mobile phones and would promote local manufacturing.
“We have already sought recommendations from the concerned stakeholders in the telecom sector while public suggestions on it were also welcomed by October 05”, the authority said.
PTA spokesperson said that they were dedicated to promoting investments in the manufacturing of smartphones and other mobile devices in Pakistan.
Earlier on June 2, the federal cabinet has approved the first-ever mobile device manufacturing policy of the country.
