The month of Ramadan will be observed in the country on Saturday with lockdown SOPs amid coronavirus pandemic.
However, some areas were to begin fasting on Friday, contrary to the official announcement by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
On Thursday, after the announcement by Mufti Popalzai of Peshawar’s Qasim Ali Khan Mosque, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s residents were to begin fasting on Friday.
The local committee of mosque met for the witnessing of the crescent moon and Mufti Popalzai said nine testimonies, including one by a woman, had been received.
