Two ‘Halloween’ sequels confirmed for 2020 and 2021

The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode isn’t over yet as two new Halloween sequels have been announced by the Universal Pictures. It was unveiled that Halloween will get two back-to-back sequel films that will open in 2020 and 2021.

Jamie Lee Curtis’s last year film, directed by David Gordon Green become the highest-grossing installment in the horror franchise at more than $250 million worldwide.

John Carpenter shared a video that revealed two new movies were on the way. The first, Halloween Kills, will arrive October 16, 2020, while Halloween Ends will conclude the saga on October 15, 2021.

The teaser trailer was captioned saying, “The saga of Michael Myers and Laurie Strode isn’t over”.

Jamie Lee Curtis also tweeted, confirming her involvement in the new sequels. ““It ain’t over till the fat lady sings. Well, my friends and fans…. I’m just WARMING UP Happy Halloween 2020/2021”.

Producer Jason Blum has also confirmed that the majority of the team involved in 2018’s Halloween will be returning. Aside from Curtis and Carpenter, this includes director David Gordon Green and writer Danny McBride.

While taking it to social media, Jason Blum tweet: FINALLY: not one but TWO new Halloween movies: Halloween Kills (2020) and Halloween Ends (2021). Yes, the gang is ALL back, including @jamieleecurtis, Danny McBride, David Gordon Green and @TheHorrorMaster John Carpenter. Oh yea”.

Last year’s release “Halloween” was the 11th installment in the franchise, five of which included Curtis, and a direct sequel to John Carpenter’s original 1978 movie.

Nick Castle was back to portray the deranged Myers, who has escaped custody and heads for Haddonfield, Ill., for a final showdown with Strode on Halloween night.
