Munawar Hasan, the fomer Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan’s Khawaja Izhar have contracted COVID-19, their party representatives confirmed on Thursday.
Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, the leader of JI Karachi chapter while confirming the news on the micro-blogging website said that Hasan, has been admitted to hospital where he is under treatment at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
“[He] is being administered medicines and necessary treatment,” Rehman said, adding that a team of doctors was constantly taking care of him.
Meanwhile, MQM’s Khawaja Izhar has tested positive for the virus on Thursday. His report was received at a time when he was attending an all-party conference (APC) hosted by the Pakistan Peoples Party.
The MQM-P leader immediately left the conference and has since isolated himself at home.
