Indian couple ties knot in PPE kits after groom tests COVID-19 positive

An Indian couple makes it to the international headline for tying the knot in PPE kits after groom tests COVID-19 positive!

It was a unique wedding as there were no traditional wedding dresses for the bride and groom including the Pundit who supervised the wedding. They all were wearing the PPE kits to conclude the wedding rituals as per the Hindu religion. 

The wedding is reported to have taken place in the city of Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh on April 26.

The rituals could have not to be delayed despite the groom tested positive for COVID-19 on April 19.

Reportedly the wedding took place at a local marriage hall with the permission of the local administration.

From the video shared by the Indian news agency, it can be seen the couple performing all the wedding rituals wearing PPE kits while the family members stood at a distance wearing masks.

The local police officials were part of the ceremony.

 

A similar kind of wedding was reported last year in December from Rajasthan when the couple tied the knot at Kelwara COVID Centre in Shahbad, wearing personal protection equipment (PPE) kits,

 

The marriage ceremony was conducted following the government’s COVID protocols after the bride’s coronavirus test report came positive on the wedding day.
