Sindh Govt Bans Elective Surgeries!

The government of Sindh has banned elective surgeries in hospitals in a bid to save oxygen for COVID patients.

The decision was announced on Monday which has been taken to address the possibility of oxygen shortage in the province amid the rising number of coronavirus cases.

Taking to Twitter, Sindh Government Spokesperson Murtaza Wahab announced that the decision has been taken as a precaution.

“In order to address the possibility of oxygen shortage due to rise in #COVID19 cases, #SindhGovt has decided to impose a complete ban on Elective Surgeries in public as well as private hospitals. It is clarified that surgeries in emergency cases will continue #SaveOxygen,” he said in his tweet.

The province of Sindh on Monday had reported 727 new coronavirus cases and 6 deaths.

 

Owing to the surge in COVID-19 cases, the provincial government has announced the closure of all closes all schools, colleges, universities.
While all Sindh government offices shall operate with an essential staff of 20% only.
Furthermore, the inter-city public transport will be closed from 29th April in the province of Sindh.
Murtaza Wahab announced the new decisions in a tweet that were taken by the Sindh Government on Monday after CM Murad Ali Shah chaired a meeting of the Provincial Task Force on Coronavirus.

Earlier a day Sindh closes all schools, colleges, universities amid surge in COVID-10 cases.
