Arshad Sharif’s autopsy report has finally been handed over to his mother, it emerges on Saturday.
As reported, the autopsy report of senior Pakistani journalist Arshad Sharif, who was killed in Kenya, was handed over to his mother in Islamabad.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) handed over the autopsy report of Arshad Sharif to his mother.
FIA Senior Director Athar Waheed met Arshad Sharif’s mother and handed over the autopsy report to her, as well as apprised the family of the progress in the case so far.
FIA sources said that it was Arshad Sharif’s mother’s right to know the truth, and the family has every legal right to access the post-mortem.
According to the autopsy report, at the time of the post-mortem in Pakistan, there were marks of torture on the body of journalist Arshad Sharif.
On the other hand, Arshad Sharif’s post-mortem report has also been shared with Kenyan authorities.
Arshad Sharif’s post-mortem report has been shared with the Independent Police Oversight Authority of Kenya, IG Police Kenya, and the Director of Public Prosecution.
According to sources, a copy of the post-mortem report was received in Kenya through Pakistan’s official diplomatic channels.
DG FIA Mohsin Hasan Butt says that it seems clear from the evidence collected by Pakistan that Arshad Sharif was killed by planning in Kenya.
The DG FIA further said that Athar Waheed and Umar Shahid Hamid wanted to interrogate 4 firearms shooters of the Kenyan police, but the Kenyan police produced only three persons.
Senior FIA officers say that it seems certain that the senior journalist was a victim of a murder conspiracy and it is certain that Kenyan police were involved in the targeted killing of Arshad Sharif.
