Pakistan’s COVID-19 cases corss 18000 tally, death toll reaches 417

Pakistan’s COVID-19 positive cases cross18000 figure on Saturday after new cases were reported from countrywide.

Meanwhile, the coronavirus death toll across the country has reached 417 with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) reporting the highest number of deaths, Sindh has reported 118 deaths, Punjab 115, Balochistan 16 and KP 161.

Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) has reported three, Islamabad four, while Azad Kashmir has not reported any coronavirus deaths so far.

Sindh reported 427 new coronavirus cases, taking the provincial tally to 7,102, according to the spokesperson of the Sindh government.

In Sindh, 253 children including 10-month-old infected with coronavirus in Sindh, according to Murtaza Wahab.

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah giving the details on Saturday said that out of the 427 coronavirus cases detected in Sindh during the past 24 hours, 376 were reported from Karachi, which he said showed that “the number of new cases is not dropping in the city”.

He said that 131 of the new cases were diagnosed in South district, 65 in East, 54 Korangi, 47 West, 46 Central, and 33 Malir.

The federal capital recorded 22 more cases of Covid-19. This takes the Islamabad’s coronavirus case count to 365.

Punjab has reported 514 new cases of the coronavirus, taking the provincial tally to 6,854, with 2000 cases just in Lahore.

Rawalpindi has the second-highest number of cases i.e., 380.

Meanwhile, three more journalists tested positive for novel coronavirus, raising the number of infected media persons to six in Peshawar.

KP reported reports 108 new cases, 11 more deaths on Saturday.

The total number of coronavirus cases in KP is 2,907.

Balochistan witnesses a rise in Covid-19 cases with a total tally of 1,136. The healthcare protectors are also among the most affected by the virus. There are 59 doctors so far affected by coronavirus.
