Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) dismisses reports of consensus on Caretaker Prime Minister!
Reports are in circulation claiming that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) — the two major coalition partners in the Centre — have reached a consensus on the name of Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar as the caretaker prime minister,
However, PPP leader and Federal Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman on Monday rejected such claims that a name for the caretaker prime minister had been finalized, terming them “fake news”.
“No name [for the caretaker PM] has been shared with us … and neither has PPP made any decision regarding this,” Sherry Rehman said while addressing a press conference alongside PPP Information Secretary and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Faisal Karim Kundi in Islamabad.
“No such agreement has been reached, no name has been finalized at least from our side,” Sherry Rehman asserted, adding, “We haven’t even floated any names.”
“The PPP’s party position is the same as before — which is our democratic position entrenched in the Constitution — that it’s better if the caretaker government is non-partisan,” she added.
