Preparations to send Pervez Musharraf’s last remains to Pakistan have been completed, and NOC issued!
According to diplomatic officials, the Dubai Consulate has issued a NOC for the transfer of the dead body and his passport has been cancelled.
Former President of Pakistan, General Pervez Musharraf (Retd) passed away after a prolonged illness, at a hospital in Dubai on Sunday. He was 79.
The Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) as Musharraf’s family intends to repatriate his body to Pakistan.
“His [Musharraf] passport has been cancelled,” the officials said, adding that the special plane carrying the body of the former army chief will land in Rawalpindi.
“We are in touch with the family and the consulate will facilitate in whatever way it can, the consulate has issued the no objection certificate,” the report quoted Consul-General Hassan Afzal Khan as saying.
Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch also confirmed that they were facilitating the transportation of the mortal remains of the former army chief.
“Our Missions in the UAE are in contact with the family and are facilitating the transportation of the mortal remains,” she added.

The former president will be buried in a Karachi graveyard, the confirmation has been made by his family sources.
The bereaved family earlier in the day, formally approached Pakistan’s consulate in Dubai seeking permission to shift the mortal remains of Musharraf to his homeland.
According to family sources, Pervez Musharraf’s body will depart from Maktoum Airport on Monday at 11 am.
In a statement issued immediately after Pervez Musharraf’s demise, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad and all the services chiefs expressed their heartfelt condolences.
“May Allah bless the departed soul and give strength to the bereaved family,” the military’s media wing said.
