Pakistan women cricket captain Bismah Maroof has been blessed with a baby girl.
The star cricketer took to social media to announce the news of the arrival of her bundle of joy.
The 30-year-old left-hand batter in a tweet said, “Allah SWT has blessed me with a daughter Alhamdulillah.”
Following the announcement, congratulatory messages are pouring in on social media.
Among the first to congratulate Bismah was the Pakistan Cricket Board.
“We congratulate Bismah Maroof on becoming the mother of a baby girl,” said the cricket board.
“Who do you reckon she would become – a batter or a bowler?” the PCB questioned in a cheeky way.
Pakistan batting allrounder Bismah Maroof took an indefinite break from cricket back in April this year as she had been preparing to embrace motherhood.
She played her last international match in February last year, during the T20 World Cup in Australia.
She had pulled out of the tours of South Africa and Zimbabwe earlier this year owing to “family reasons”, with Javeria Khan stepping in as captain.
