Pakistan’s Hamza Khan qualified for the final of the World Junior Squash championship!
Hamza Khan beat Melvil Scianimanico of France by 3-2 in the semi-finals in Melbourne on Saturday.
Scianimanico fought back from two games and match ball, however, Hamza Khan prevailed in the decider.
Hamza won the match 11-8, 11-4, 10-12, 9-11 and 13-11.
Hamza Khan is the first Pakistani to qualify for the final of the World Junior Squash in 15 years.
The last was Amir Atlas in 2008.
If Hamza wins the final, he will be the first Pakistani to win the title since Jansher Khan in 1986.
Earlier, Hamza Khan defeated Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah 11-8, 9-11, 11-7, 12-10 to book his spot in the semi-final.
He reached the quarter-finals after defeating Colombia’s Santamaria 3-2 in a close contest in the pre-quarter-final.
