Over 200 shops gutted in a fire at Islamabad’s H-9 Sunday Bazaar

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad said that the market will open as usual on Friday.

Over 200 shops have been gutted to ashes in a fire at Islamabad’s H-9 Sunday Bazaar on Wednesday.

As reported, the fire that broke out in the area of Sunday Bazaar in H-9 of Islamabad was brought under control.

The fire broke out at the Sunday market at around 6 pm, after which 10 fire tenders and other rescue teams brought the fire under control.

The cooling process is currently underway at the site of the incident.

The Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and the city’s fire department extinguished the fire, while capital police and district administration were present at the site of the incident.

Pakistan Army and Rescue 1122 from Rawalpindi also offered their services during the operation to extinguish the blaze.

Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Irfan Nawaz Memon said that the unfortunate incident of fire took place in Atbar Bazar H-9, after which the fire brigade and other rescue teams reached the spot and brought the fire under control.

He said that the fire has been completely brought under control, Rescue Rawalpindi and the rescue teams of the armed forces also participated in the operation.

He said that there was no loss of life and the cooling process is going on, the situation is under control.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad said in a statement that the fire broke out in the stalls of clothes and carpets in Sunday Bazaar.

The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad said that the market will open as usual on Friday.

He said that the electricity in the area was temporarily disconnected so that there was no loss of life.

On the other hand, Islamabad Police informed the citizens about the traffic plan and requested the aid workers to cooperate.

Earlier, Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah took notice of the fire in Sunday Bazaar and directed the DC Islamabad to supervise the relief operation.
