It was earlier in the day when during a case hearing, the top court hinted at banning YouTube in Pakistan while hearing the case of a man, Shaukat Ali, involved in a sectarian crime.
Supreme Court on Wednesday took notice of “objectionable content” being shared on YouTube and other social media platforms.
It was earlier in July when Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) banned the popular online multiplayer game Players Unkown’s Battleground (PUBG).
Furthermore, the video-sharing app Bigo is also banned by PTA and has issued a final warning to TikTok to monitor and regulate the content in Pakistan based on the country’s laws or face the same fate as the other app.
