According to the statistics issued by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), 2,145 new patients tested positive after 40,805 tests were conducted across the country.
While the country’s positivity rate stands at 5.25%.
The region-wise breakdown of the COVID cases and deaths is as follows:
- Punjab: 382 Covid-19 infections and 11 deaths
- Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 144 coronavirus cases and five deaths
- Balochistan: 80 new cases
- Islamabad: 120 cases
- AJK: 76 cases, 1 death
- GB: 96 cases, 3 deaths
607,117 vaccines administered across Pakistan on July 19: NCOC
According to the NCOC statistics 607,117 vaccines were administered across Pakistan on July 19, 2021.
Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives and the NCOC Chief Asad Umar in a tweet, said that while the increasing number of vaccine doses being administered was “encouraging”, the pace of vaccination needed to be sped up so all social and economic restrictions could be lifted.
“As long as a large part of the population does not get vaccinated, restrictions are unavoidable,” he said.
