Jami Mehmood shuns his Lux Style Award for Moor, for nominating alleged sexual harasser
Seems like the road to LSA this year will be filled with controversies and people shunning their nominations or awards for supporting an alleged harasser, i.e. Ali Zafar, as he has been nominated as Best Actor for his film Teefa In Trouble.
Earlier model Emaan Suleman, singer Meesha Shafi, band The Sketches, brand Generations and makeup artist Saima Bargfrede renounced their Lux Style Awards nominations for nominating an alleged harasser. Following suit, filmmaker Jami Mahmood, who won the Lux Style Award for his film Moor, has also renounced his award, putting his trophy out on the roads, in his support for women.
Tomo we will be putting my Lux award outside my gate on road. Recycle it plz. Its useless. We stand with our women and their word not their soaps. @LSA_2019 @LeenaNairHR

“Lux Award for Best film Moor is now on the road outside my gate. We believe and stand by our Women stories,” wrote Jami on his Twitter sharing images of his trophy out on the roads.
Jami had earlier also tweeted against LSA, stating the awards should be titled Lux Style Assault for nominating an alleged sexual harasser.
L S A this year stands for Lux Style Assault! Alleged serial sexual assaulter is nominated this year. Madness at Lux. @Unilever @HUL_News @LeenaNairHR
