Govt. delays decision to raise the petroleum product prices
The government has delayed the decision to raise the price of petroleum products. Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information Firdous Ashiq Awan announced in a news conference following the Federal Cabinet meeting.
Dr. Awan said the summary of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to raise petroleum prices was reviewed realizing problems faced by people, the prime minister decided to send this matter to the ECC and a decision will be taken later.

SAPM Firdous Ashiq Awan said the ministers were in view that increase just before the commencement of Holy month of Ramzan will further increase inflation in the country.
“Realizing problems being faced by the people, the prime minister decided to call on another meeting to review the recommendations.”
“Most of the cabinet members showed their concern over OGRA recommendations to jack-up PoL prices”, she further added.
As being reported, in today’s cabinet meeting along with the petroleum prices matter, 13 other important issues were discussed.
