Netflix’s Bard Of Blood Trailer: Can Indian filmmakers create any storyline without stereotyping Muslims and Pakistan?
The trailer of Brad Of Blood is Netflix’s latest series based upon the political espionage thriller based on “Bard of Blood,” by Bilal Siddiqi, is finally out. The seven-episode series will begin streaming on September 27.
Pakistanis, in particular, do not find the idea entertaining at all, though the series is based on a book, however, a story told on-screen has a different impact.
The series features Imran Hashmi in the lead role is produced by Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment, whose trailer was shared by SRK a day ago, as well as by the streaming site Netflix.
Sacred Games Season 2: Magnum opus series falls to a silly, shallow anti-Pakistan plot
The series is created by Bilal Siddiqi and Gaurav Verma and is directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. The primary cast of the series other than Emraan Hashmi, includes Vineet Kumar Singh, Sobhita Dhulipala, Kirti Kulhari, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Rajit Kapoor.
The two-minute 30-seconds trailer kicks off with the capture of some Indian spies in the Pakistani province of Balochistan. The story line revolves around the story of an ex-RAW agent.
This series, in particular, is coming out in time amidst the tensions between India and Pakistan regarding Kashmir.
A response was shared by the spokesperson Pakistan Armed Forces, Major General Asif Ghafoor on social media.
While quoting the trailer shared by Shah Rukh Khan on twitter, Peace For Change wrote: “Stay in Bollywood syndrome @iamsrk. For reality see RAW Spy Kulbhushan Jadev, Wing Comd Abhinandan & state of 27 Feb 2019. You could rather promote peace & humanity by speaking against atrocities in IOJ&K and against Hindituva of Nazism obsessed RSS”.
Many others are fuming over the internet after series trailer came out:
Can india find some storylines that dont show Pakistan in their “rescue missions”.
How about some rescue missions for Kashmiris in kashmir? #KashmirStillUnderCurfew https://t.co/TCBcxwmIkn— manshapasha (@manshapasha) 22 August 2019
sigh. you would think that in a time of such hostile uncertainty, artists would have the sense to demand & demonstrate peace. if all we preach is hate & war through our media & politics, what chance does real life have to foster love & harmony? https://t.co/2SjaGH5kJb

#BardOfBlood is exactly what @MehwishHayat has been talking about recently. It’s a shame that it’s coming from someone like SRK and Emraan Hashmi. When will we stop stereotyping Muslims?

Wow Wow Wow!
Mister Khan you are showing the true face of Muslims.Bollywood will always make Anti-Muslims Movies and the funniest….
Oh! The saddest thing is that they use Muslims to promote the hate for Muslims.
But Muslim Actors in Bollywood are dumb.#BardOfBlood https://t.co/z3ncJVCQaa— Saba (@ItsSabaZainab) 22 August 2019
Netflix went from Breaking Bad and Prison Break to Bard of Blood by Imran Hashmi, a guy who’s career ended in Bollywood 10 years ago. The decline is fucking real. Can’t wait to see relating another series to Pakistan and ISI and calling all Muslims terrorists. https://t.co/iBqozelm8o

Worst part about this is that two Muslims,SRK and Emraan Hashmi, are willing to portray us in such a manner. Think of the propaganda you’re selling and how this will effect Indian Muslims in your own country. Oh and they will never see you as one of their own. https://t.co/LNwHj1fO9t

A country whose majority of movies depict Muslims as terrorists – another feather in their cap? Cashing in on typical stereo types, sorry to say https://t.co/gjXQwmvBOL
