Sindh govt. restricts movement between 8am-5pm as coronavirus cases surge to 440
The Sindh government has decided to restrict movement in the province from 8 am to 5 pm as part of measures being taken to ensure that the lockdown is effective Sindh IGP Mushtaq Mahar said.
According to Mahar, pet owners will be allowed to take their pets out between 12 pm to 2 pm.
Meanwhile, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has ordered that all grocery shops and stores across the province will be closed by 5 pm from tomorrow. Earlier, the government had allowed shops to remain open from 8 am to 8 pm.
Shah said that about 10 percent of reported cases were locally transmitted, adding that it was a “dangerous trend”.
He said that restricting prayer congregations was a difficult decision and was “aimed at saving people from local transmission”.
Meanwhile, there were 11 new cases of local transmission in Karachi on Friday.
