5.2 magnitude earthquake jolts Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and surrounding areas

A 5.2 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday afternoon jolted Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and surrounding areas.

The tremors were also felt in Shakar Garh, Chichawatni, Sialkot, Mandi Bahauddin, Rawalpindi, Jhelum, Hafizabad, Zafarwal, and Murree.

The quake was also felt in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Abbottabad, Swabi, and Swat areas.

The tremours were also felt in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir areas including Bagh, DhirKot, and Muzaffarabad.

No loss of life reported so far while the tremours created panic among residents and force them out of their houses, offices, and buildings in the affected areas.

According to Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the earthquake originated at 1:04 pm,

The quake’s epicenter was Eastern Kashmir, with its depth at 10 kilometers, the PMD said, it occurred at the longitude at 75.97 E and latitude at 33.32 N.

The tremours were also felt in parts of India, including New Delhi and adjoining areas.
