Atif Aslam’s rendition of the song ‘Chalte Chalte’ has not amused Lata Mangeshkar

Legendary Singer Lata Mangeshkar  is not happy with Atif Aslam’s rendition of her super hit romantic song ” Chalte Chalte” from the classic film ‘Pakeezah ‘

Recently Atif Aslam lent his vocals for the remake of a new version of Lata Mangeskar’s famous romantic song for the upcoming Bollywood flick ‘Mitron’ . And unfortunately,  Atif’s version of the hit number has not received much appreciation from the music enthusiasts and critics. In fact, the original singer  of this song Lata Mangeshkar has refused to listen to the song as she doesn’t like the idea of Bollywood remixes.

According to sources, the veteran singer tolds IANS, “I don’t want to hear it. This trend of remixing old songs saddens me. Where is the creativity in simply lifting acknowledged, beloved classics and shuffling the notes around? ” She further added, “I’ve even heard that the lyrics are changed in the remixes. By whose consent? The original poets and composers wrote what they had to. Nobody has the right to tamper with the creativity of these great composers and lyricists.”

Even Babul Supriyo, who has been campaigning against Pakistani singers shared his malice over Atif Aslam’s rendition of the song, complaining how he never understood why Indian filmmakers went across the border for music.
