Indie Artist Zoha Zuberi Releases a New Single ‘JO TU NA MERA’
Singer, songwriter, Zoha Zuberi releases a new single ‘Jo Tu Na Mera’ on the 1ST April 2021. Written and composed by the artist herself, the track has been produced by Ali Mustafa, mastered by Asif Hassan, also featuring guitar maestro Nabeel Nihal Chishti. ‘Jo Tu Na Mera’ marks Zuberi’s 4th single since the launch of her EP ‘February’ launched back in 2019.
From her humble beginnings as a cover artist in Islamabad to releasing nine original tracks, Zuberi has established herself as an indie artist known for her versatility and experimentation with a variety of genres. Her current track ‘Jo Tu Na Mera’ is vibrant and refreshing yet it takes listeners back in time to the golden age of Pakistani music.
While talking about the song, Zuberi explained, “I agree that the world is changing around us and we experiment with new music all the time. However, when making this piece, I felt as if this song deserved to be treated gently. We found inspiration with Ali and Nabeel Bhai. The song needed to come to life, it needed that soul. It was a privilege to have Nabeel Bhai on board, who you obviously know has previously added the oomph for Aaroh’s music in the past. Ali Bhai on the other hand is a master of his art. After he was done with the production, the song felt like it was plucked out (spoiler alert) from the 90s and given a new spirit. A fusion that I believe only Ali Mustafa can achieve.”
When asked about the concept of the video, the artist explained, ‘Imagine being stuck in a toxic relationship, place or situation, it feels like a loop. Your heart wants to stay but you know deep down that nothing you can do will ever change how you feel. It is this feeling that helped me visualise and write this song.” The video has been directed by Balach Khan while the Dop of the video is Haris Rao.
‘Jo Tu Na Mera’ officially launched on 26th March 2021 across all audio platforms, while its official music video was launched on 1ST April 2021. The track is now available on the singer’s YouTube, SoundCloud, Spotify, and iTunes.
