Barkhan blast: Four killed, 12 injured in a bomb explosion in the Rakhni Bazaar

At least four people were killed and 12 others were injured in a blast in Balochistan’s Barkhan area on Sunday.

As reported, a motorcycle laden with explosives blew up in the Rakhni Bazaar of the Barkhan district.

The injured have been shifted to a local hospital. While some injured were taken to Dera Ghazi Khan hospital, the police said.

According to the police, the explosion took place on Sunday morning near a hotel and a barber shop in the Rakhni market. The place was crowded in the morning.

 The explosion damaged several cars, motorcycles and shops in the bazaar.

Security forces cordoned off the area and completely suspended traffic after the incident.

Meanwhile, investigations are underway and the police and law enforcement agencies are collecting the evidence.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also condemned the incident and expressed his sympathies with the bereaved families.

In a statement, the premier ordered best ever medical care for the injured. He prayed for those who lost their lives and for the speedy recovery of the injured.

PM Shehbaz Sharif has sought a report of the incident from the Balochistan chief minister and the provincial police chief, saying the terrorists would not be able to escape punishment.

 “We will make an example out of those who spill innocent blood,” he added.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Abdul Qudoos Bizenjo condemned the blast and directed the authorities to take all possible steps to arrest the culprits.

“Those who shed the blood of innocent people are enemies of humanity,” he said.

President Dr Arif Alvi also condemned the incident and stressed the need to speed up efforts for the complete elimination of terrorists.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari also condemned the incident, saying that the elements involved in terrorism are unforgivable.

The former president said that the federal and provincial governments should bring all terrorists to justice.

He also offered sympathies to the families of those who were killed and prayed for the speedy recovery of the wounded.
