Game of Thrones: Parents Who Named Their Daughters Khaleesi are Pertified

As the compassionate Daenerys turned into a Mad Queen in last week’s episode, some gasps were louder than others – they were of the parents who had named their daughters Khaleesi after the kind compassionate Dany of GoT.

Known for her kind traits and badass personality, Daenerys had evolved to an exceptional extent in the last one decade of GoT. Starting from the young, innocent Dany to the fierce yet smartest ruler of Dothraki and Unsullied Daenerys had every trait one would want their child to be have. However, things went way out of hand as Dany turned into the ‘expected’ Mad Queen and burnt down almost all of Kings Landing.

It was only then, last week, when parents who have named their daughters Khaleesi were petrified to see the actions of their adored ‘Khaleesi’. Some clearly stating their disappointment in the show makers who led them to believe that Dany was all about awesomeness.

“It was kind of disappointing that her power trip took over. That was not cool. [I don’t] like the outcome of what she represents [it’s] kind of bittersweet right now,” said Jasmine Estrada, mother of a 6 year old Khaleesi, while talking to Distractify.

The internet also started to role in savage and ironically funny memes, which some parents of Mothers of Dragons couldn’t take.

“I don’t think she did anything wrong. I think she did what she had to do. After the episode, a lot of people kept tagging me on memes and being like, ‘How do you feel that Khaleesi has that name now that Daenerys did all of that?’ I’m like, I don’t feel anything ,” said Katherine who has a 1 year old named after the popular character.

Albeit that there is a fair chance of Khaleesi getting a not so pleasant end in the television series, we do hope that the 560 babies who were named Khaleesi in 2018, do not end up complaining to their parents for a name associated to a monster in 2019. Nonetheless we hope that they might find solace to see their name as the 549th most popular name in the US.
