Mehwish Hayat defends her choice to do dance numbers in films
It’s been a few days when filmmakers revealed that actress Mehwish Hayat is all set to appear on silver screens this time as Gangster Guriya in the upcoming film Baaji.
The newly released song has created quite a stir as film fans do not support the concept of item number that too in Pakistani films.
Taking it to social media, the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz laureate came forward defending her choice for doing an item number in the films.
Mehwish Hayat wrote: “To do these dance numbers has been my choice. As an actress and performer, it is my job. As a woman I find my work empowering. Dance to me is aesthetically the purest form of art”.

Recalling her first item number experience, Mehwish wrote about her latest dance number:
“Oops, I did it again! After 5 years another cameo that I am very proud of. R u ready for Gangster Guriya?A woman in control of herself & knows wat she wants! ” You can’t play me boy. nahi hoon mai khilona”.”

If revival of Pak Cinema is abt sultry item songs with vulgar lyrics, then why loathe Indian content?
What is exclusivity of Pak Cinema over Bolly?
Why #GangsterGuriya? Why not Sheila ki Jawani? @iamhamzaabbasi @saminatv @mshaanshahid @faysalquraishi @iVeenaKhan @mubasherlucman— Umar (@UBK86) June 20, 2019
