ByteDance, TikTok’s parent company has apparently bought an AI music startup, Jukedeck

According to news, ByteDance, TikTok parent company, might have acquired an AI generated music developing software startup, named Jukedeck.

Jukedeck recently created a tool that automatically generated music letting users adjust the length, tempo, and the song’s climax.

Since TikTok videos are based on licensed music, a tool like Jukedeck could benefit TikTok tons, making sure it wouldn’t have to pay for AI-made music. This could offer the users more creative control to customize tracks, sync music and create the perfect video.

Jukedeck’s acquisition will also help TikTok avoid some big monetary and licensing issues since it has to pay for the music it uses therefore its people using royalty free tracks will mean the app would not have to worry about record labels.

Users will also be able to move their videos off the platform, without worrying about TikTok’s license deals.

The apparent acquisition of Jukedeck came into notice when the employees, including its CEO, listed ByteDance as their employer on LinkedIn.

The website is currently offline, as well alongside a message saying “We can’t tell you more just yet, but we’re looking forward to continuing to fuel creativity using musical AI!”
