Manish Malhotra to direct Meena Kumari biopic starring Kriti Sanon in lead, reports Indian media.

Previously, it was speculated that the much-anticipated biopic will be directed by Hansal Mehta.

However, it’s now reported that the ace fashion designer Malhotra will be stepping into direction soon.

Reports also indicate that the film production company T-Series, led by Bhushan Kumar, is backing this ambitious project.

Manish Malhotra has worked closely with eminent personalities of Bollywood for decades as a fashion designer and as per the reports, he is now preparing to step into the realm of filmmaking.

Model-turned-actress, Kriti Sanon, who was recently seen trying to make the most of her role in Adipurush, is reported to play the character of Meena Kumari in the biopic.

While there have been numerous reports surrounding the project, the official announcement is yet to arrive.

Fans have to wait to find out if the rumored project will be able to do justice to the captivating life of Meena Kumari aka tragedy queen of Indian cinema.
