Marry Poppins is returning this December!

The mysterious Mary Poppins will be returning to Depression-era London, this December. To visit Jane and her brother Michael, now a father of three, and helps them rediscover the joy they knew as children.

The official trailer of the upcoming film ‘Mary Poppins Returns’ was released  Monday, 16 September. This film will hit theaters on 19th December.

The film is the sequel of 1964’s film Mary Poppins. This new film is a musical fantasy, which follows grown-up Jane  played by Emily Mortimer and Michael Banks played by Ben Whishaw . After the death of Michael’s wife, Marry Poppins played by Emily Blunt, returns to help raise the new generation of Banks children. Marry Poppins is joined in by Street lamplighter Jack (Lin-Manuel Miranda) and the eccentric Topsy (Meryl Streep), to help the family in the time of need.

The trailer starts with Michael and Jane looking at their forgotten belongings in their childhood home. “I honestly can’t remember why we kept most of this stuff to begin with,” says Ben while, he is looking at a snow globe and the kite. His sister Jane is also feeling nostalgic about their belongings.

Marry Poppins descends from the sky, just like the original 1964 film. When Jack and Banks’s child are flying kite in the backyard. Michael points at the age of the magical Nanny who shows no sign of aging. To which Marry Poppins replies, “Really? One never discusses a woman’s age, Michael. Would have hoped I taught you better.”

Nanny is seen creating magical moments for the children, that seems fun swimming underwater while fully dressed, floating in the air and a bathtub that floats in the middle of sea with dolphins jumping over them.

Those who have seen the original film are keen to watch the sequel of one of the popular Hollywood’s fantasy film. Hope it won’t disappoint!
