University student in Karachi shot dead for resisting robbery.

As reported, the victim identified as Laraib, a private university student, was shot dead in Karachi’s Korangi area on Monday night while resisting a robbery attempt.

Twenty-two-year-old Muhammad Laraib was the eldest of four siblings and resided in the KDA Employees Housing Society.

According to the Police the victim was intercepted by two suspects while returning home from a gym.

The suspect fired a bullet that hit him near his one eye, which turned out to be fatal.

The incident happened in Korangi’s Allah Wala Town neighbourhood.

A 30-bore pistol’s empty bullet shell was found at the spot of the incident, the police said, adding that no mobile phone was found near the victim’s body.

Meanwhile, further inquiry into the incident is underway.

He said the student was writing a book on basic accounting and its data was saved in his cell phone for which he resisted the robbery attempt.
The grieving father told the media that Laraib was engaged and his marriage was scheduled to take place in 2025.
As reported, the victim’s body was shifted to the Jinnah Hospital, where the deceased’s brother refused an autopsy examination.
The family is expected to register a case after the burial.
