Aurat March Islamabad ends up at stone pleating incident
All was going well throughout the country as citizens came out at the selected venues to participate in Aurat March, however, Islamabad’s event ended abruptly after the stone-pelting incident.
Participants of the Aurat March in Islamabad gathered outside the National Press Club at 3 pm, where the ‘Haya March” was also being held by Jamia Hafsa students.
In order to avoid clashes as the two different schools of thought were gathered up in the capital, the authorities had erected a tent between the two marches.
As being reported, after the Jamia Hafsa students ended their march, some people took down the partition tent installed for the protection of the participants and penetrated the demonstration, and started throwing stones, injuring at least one member of the Aurat March.
Initially, the police and organizers struggled to control the situation, however, the situation was soon brought under control by police and people had to leave early.
The accounts of the incident at Aurat March Islamabad are being shared on social media:
Mullahs are stoning the participants of #AuratAzadiMarch a march that was and is peaceful. Where is the security that was promised? Where was the police that was promised?
