Emergency declared in KMC hospitals due to expected heatwave in Karachi

According to a warning issued by the Met office, Karachi is likely to experience an intense heat wave from the 1st of May to the 3rd. Authorities and stakeholders have been warned to take and issue precautionary measures for the time duration.

After the warning, all 13 health facilities under KMC management have been put on a high alert to address all and any sort of emergency situation that might arise as a result of the soaring temperatures.

The authorities are on a high alert. The Sindh Minister Murtaza Wahab said that 24 ambulances in the city had been reserved to meet all emergency situations in the city.

According to Met office, the heatwave is likely to grip the Karachi city during 1st to  3rd May 2019 during which the day maximum temperature could climb to 40-42 C.

Winds flow will be from North/Northwest during day time.

The PMD has requested the authorities to take all the precautionary measures.
