PTI chairman finally makes an appearance before JIT on May 9 incidents!

As reported, PTI chairman Imran Khan appeared before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for the first time with regard to the May 9 incidents, including vandalism and arson at Jinnah House, on Friday, July 14.

Imran Khan’s counsels Ali Ijaz Buttar and Advocate Naeem Haider Panjutha were also present during his appearance before the JIT.

The JIT put several questions before the PTI chairman regarding the May 9 incidents. The former premier was shown the videos of the May 9 incidents.

According to sources, the replies given by the PTI chairman have been made part of the investigation record.

The PTI chairman was summoned in a case (96/23) registered at Sarwar Road police station.

He was brought to the Investigations Headquarters amid tight security.

As reported, the JIT has instructed Imran Khan to appear before the team at 4 pm today for questioning and providing any relevant information.

A summons notice was issued to Imran earlier by Lahore DIG (investigation) Kamran Adil, who is heading the JIT.

The notice read: “Imran Khan is required to attend the office of the DIG Investigation to join the investigation proceedings entrusted to the JTI formed by the Punjab government.”

Imran’s counsel Ali Ijaz Buttar claimed that Imran Khan answered all questions asked of him.

“We complied with Lahore ATC’s order and due process of law has been completed,” he added.

Imran Khan was questioned linked to a case filed at the city’s Sarwar Road police station, in the wake of the vandalism.
