Overs are likely to be reduced as the key match is expected to resume after the rain

If the overs were reduced to 20 because of the rain, Pakistan would have to chase 181.

According to cricket statistician Mazher Arshad it would be 206 for 24 overs.

Pakistan bowlers after a poor start managed to make a comeback and both the Indian openers Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill were dismissed by the 20th over.

Shadab struck in the 17th over and took Rohit’s wicket who tried to chip it over long off but didn’t go through with the shot. Faheem Ashraf grabbed a crucial catch for his side.

Rohit was sent back to the pavilion after scoring 56 from 49 deliveries.

Pakistan got the second breakthrough in the 18th over. Skipper Azam’s decision to bring back Shaheen to the attack proved fruitful. Shaheen, who gave away 31 runs in his first spell,  dismissed a well-settled Gill who chipped a slower ball right into Shadab’s hands.

India were 124 for the loss of two wickets after the 18th over.

Rain has paused the match in the 24th over.
