Car driver injured as a safety pillar collapsed near Orange Line station, Lahore

A Car driver as injured as a steel structure collapsed near Orange Line station in Lahore, on Wednesday night.

As being reported, a safety pillar fell on the road adjacent to the metro train track OLMT track near Baghbanpura, Lahore. The incedent happened just after 10 days of the inaguration of Orange Line Train.


As being reported car driver identified as Farhan, was leaving with his wife and two young children in the car. His car was parked next to the carry box, at which the steel structure fell.

Luckily Farhan’s wife and two children managed to get out of the car, as being reported.

The incident took place in the middle of the night, and 2 parked cars were crushed under the gantry. The passenger sustained a few injuries, and no other casualties were reported.

Provincial Minister for Transport Jahanzeb Khan Kachchi visited the Shalimar station of Orange Line Metro train on the direction of Chief Minister Punjab.

The provincial minister inspected the incident of falling of safety pillar on the road adjacent to the track of Orange Line train.

GM (Operations) PMA Aziz Shah, Additional Secretary Transport Muhammad Zulqarnain, and officers of relevant departments including Nespak, LDA, Traffic Police were also present at the moment.


The administration informed the provincial minister at the accident site about the details of the incident.

The incident of safety pillar falling on the road adjacent to the metro train track is unfortunate, Provincial Minister of Transport said.

The best medical facilities will be provided to the injured. Jahanzeb Khan Kachchi added.

Provincial Minister for Transport Jahanzeb Khan Kachchi directed to form a committee to investigate the incident.

Provincial Minister of Transport has directed to investigate all aspects of the incident and submit a report in the next 24 hours.

Action will be taken against those responsible, in the light of the inquiry report of the incident, said the provincial minister.
