Gilgit Declared COVID-19 Free By Deputy Commissioner Of The City

Gilgit has been declared COVID-19 free by the Deputy Commissioner of the city.

The claim came from Gilgit’s Deputy Commissioner who on Wednesday in a tweet from his official Twitter account shared the city’s daily situation report on COVID-19.

According to the report released by the Provincial Emergency Operation Centre of Gilgit-Baltistan’s health department, the city has zero new cases in Gilgit city, since the outbreak of the virus.

In his tweet Gilgit DC Naveed Ahmed Kaleen said, “Alhamdulillah! Gilgit is COVID-19 free finally”.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic, Gilgit-Baltistan collectively has reported a total of 4,912 cases in the region.

While  4,794 people have recovered, and a total of 102 deaths have been reported in GB.
