Pervez Khattak quits politics
Khattak, who parted ways from the Imran Khan-led party, lost from Nowshera’s NA-33 seat.
PTI-P chief Pervez Khattak announced to quit politics on Monday.
The former defense minister is the second politician in the day to leave politics after facing defeat in the Feb 8 general elections.
Pervez Khattak, chief of his breakaway faction of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, PTI-Parliamentarians, has resigned from his party position, saying that he is taking a break from politics for now.
Khattak announced his decision days after his party failed to win even a single seat in the general elections in 2024.
Khattak, who parted ways from the Imran Khan-led party, lost from Nowshera’s NA-33 seat.
According to unofficial results, PTI-backed independent candidate Shahid Ahad Khattak won the NA-33 seat by securing 90,145 votes.
Meanwhile, Pervez Khattak managed to get just 25,258.
Furthermore, his two sons and a son-in-law, who were contesting from all seven seats in Nowshera, also couldn’t win any single seat.
