Sindh records highest single day death toll at 14, COVID-19 cases top 9,000

Sindh has recorded its highest single-day death toll on Thursday after 14 people died from the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has confirmed the news, he said while the death rate was 1.9 percent, “we are losing precious lives and we can control it if we all observe standard operating procedures and guidelines of experts.”

The total number of deaths in the province has risen to 171.

Meanwhile, Sindh’s coronavirus cases have topped 9,000 after 453 new cases were reported.

CM Shah said that 3,534 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours out of which 453 came back positive, taking the province’s tally to 9,093.

He also added that 87 patients were in critical condition while 14 were on ventilators.
