PPP’s Murad Ali Shah elected as Sindh CM for the third consecutive time

Murad Ali Shah has been elected as Sindh’s chief minister for the third consecutive time.

On Monday, the Sindh Assembly elected the Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Murad Ali Shah as the chief minister of the province after securing 112 votes to become.

His contest against Muttahida Qaumi Movement–Pakistan’s (MQM-P) Ali Khurshid, got only 36 votes to his name.

A total of 148 members of the Sindh assembly participated in the polling for CM elections.

As reported, the MPAs belonging to the Jamaat-i-Islami and the PTI did not cast vote.

Murad Ali Shah will take oath as the 25th chief minister of Sindh.

Following Murad Ali Shah’s election as the custodian of the House, MQM-P MPA Abdul Waseem congratulated the new CM and expressed hope that the newly elected assembly would resolve the people’s issues.

“We all need to respect the elected members and resolve the problems. I hope Murad Ali Shah will live up to people’s expectations,” Abdul Waseem said.

A day earlier, the Sindh assembly elected PPP’s Syed Awais Qadir Shah as the new speaker and Anthony Naveed as deputy speaker.
