Sindh govt announces public holiday on Wednesday marking Labour Day

The Sindh government has announced a public holiday marking Labour Day on Wednesday, May 1.

The public holiday will be for all the government offices, autonomous bodies, semi-autonomous bodies, corporations and local councils under the administrative control of the Sindh government except essential services, as per the notification.

Each year May 1 is observed as Labour Dat all over the world in memory of the Chicago workers who were killed by police while striking for an eight-hour workday in 1886.
