A pro-Palestine fan invades ICC World Cup final holding LGBTQ flag

Reportedly the fan turns out to be Australian citizen

A pro-Palestine fan invaded the ICC World Cup final on Sunday when India was batting first against Australia.

Virat Kholi was facing the bowler in the 13th over of the innings when a young man apparently a cricket fan stormed the pitch wearing a T-shirt having ‘Free Palestine’ written on its back and ‘Stop Bombing Palestine’ on the front.

The fan also tried to hug Virat Kohli, however was soon removed from the field.

The moment was captured on camera and the images and video clips from the final of the World Cup are now doing rounds on social media.

Indian fans seem to be least pleased with the antics as most of them are presumed to be pro-Israel and the bombing of innocent civilians in Gaza is not a matter of importance to them.

The Israeli offensive in Gaza since Oct 7 has left more than 12,000 Palestinians killed including at least 4,710 children and 3,160 women.

Indian news agency captioned the story on X-platform saying, “Security breach during the India versus Australia ICC World Cup 2023 Final match, in Ahmedabad after a spectator entered the field to meet Virat Kohli.” But there was no mention of the Free-Palestine T-Shirt!

Reportedly the fan turns out to be an Australian citizen.

However, the act in question has become the picture of the day on social media!
