Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan indicted in ‘un-Islamic’ nikah case
Civil Judge Qudratullah conducted the hearing of the case at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi on Tuesday and read out the indictment.
Bushra Bibi and Imran Khan have been indicted in ‘un-Islamic’ nikah case!
On Tuesday, a local court in Islamabad indicted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, in a case of solemnising their marriage against Islamic laws.
As reported, Senior Civil Judge Qudratullah read out the charges in the court set up in Rawalpindi’s Adiala Jail, with the PTI founder in his presence.
However, Bushra Bibi did not appear, which annoyed the judge as previous indictments were postponed because of her absence.
The hearing of the case has been adjourned until January 18.
PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife have denied all charges in the case registered by Bushra Bibi’s former husband, Khawar Maneka, last month.
On Monday, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) reserved its verdict in response to Bushra Bibi’s plea against her ex-husband Khawar Maneka’s petition accusing her of being in an “un-Islamic” marriage with the former prime minister.
