Former president of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari has been shifted to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS). Zardari’s health deteriorated today and he has been shifted to a VIP ward at the cardiac center of the hospital where he is currently under observation.
Ensuring his security, Zardari was taken to the hospital from the back gate and shifted to the hospital in a heavily armored vehicle.
Earlier this week, a medical board constituted to examine Zardari’s health condition had submitted a report after a comprehensive medical examination recommending shifting the former president to a hospital.
The decision was then taken by the Interior Ministry.
Asif Ali Zardari was arrested back in June by NAB in the fake accounts case after the Islamabad High Court (IHC) recalled the pre-arrest bail granted to him and his sister Faryal Talpur.
