Iran launches drone attacks on Israel
It is the first time that Iran has launched an attack from its soil against Israel.
Iran has launched drone attacks on Israel.
- Iran’s state television confirmed the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched “a wide-ranging drone strike against Israel.”
- The IRGC also said it “fired dozens of cruise missiles at specific targets inside the occupied territories.”
- Israel announced it is temporarily closing its air space.
The attacks have been confirmed by the White House, what Iranian Press TV called “extensive drone strikes” by the Revolutionary Guards.
Speaking in a televised address late Saturday, Israel’s army’s spokesman, Daniel Hagari, said, “Iran launched UAVs from its territory towards the territory of the state of Israel.”
“We are on high alert and readiness.”
“It will take the drones several hours to reach Israeli air space,” Hagari added.
The drones were spotted flying over Iraqi airspace, heading towards Israel, BBC reported citing two security sources in Iraq.
Several unconfirmed attack videos are now doing rounds on Platform X, formerly Twitter.

The drone attacks come in Iran’s response to an Israeli airstrike on the country’s consulate in Syria earlier this month, which Iran blames on Israel.
The Israeli attack claimed the lives of several Iranian commanders.
On the other hand, as per the Al Mayadeen reports no Israeli warplanes are seen flying over Gaza for the very first time since October 7th.
