Karachi’s coronavirus situation continues to worsen!

The metropolis has reported 2,412 fresh cases overnight that has taken the city’s COVID positivity rate 39.39% from 35%.

As being reported, 6,124 diagnostic tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.

Karachiites continue to ignore the SOPs and a large crowd is seen in public transport, markets, and public places.

The majority of people are not wearing masks and the rule of social distancing is also being flouted.

Federal health officials have warned that the situation in Karachi to change in the coming week as the positivity ratio might hit 50%, which could lead to an increase in hospitalizations.

The officials also said that daily cases were expected to shoot up to 6,000.

On the other hand, the covid-19 pandemic has claimed the life of another doctor in Karachi. Professor Dr. Salahuddin Sheikh, a pediatrician, passed away on Sunday.

The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) announced his demise in a statement.

Dr. Salahuddin was a very senior pediatrician working at the Agha Khan University Hospital in Karachi.

He was undergoing medical treatment at the hospital for a few days.
